2026 Calendar of Events

NOTE: All events (unless noted otherwise) are free of cost to EOHC members who have paid their annual membership fee and signed the waiver.  Proof of liability insurance is required to participate in events with horses.  Educational/special events are open to the public if space allows (waivers and registration fee will be required).
 
NOTE:  Carmen Regnier will host pop-up driving events in the spring and fall at Avonmore, or we will hold driving outings at Ferguson Forest or Warwick Forest, weather permitting.
 
Rain dates will occur on either the Saturday or Sunday before or after the planned date.
 
Sunday, April 5 – Ride/drive Limerick Forest, Area 1 or 2 to be determined. Mounted for 11:00 a.m. departure. Bring something to share and a chair for a tailgate potluck lunch.
 
Sunday, April 12 – Educational Event.  Rescheduled hoof boot clinic.  Presentation by Hoofboot Canada covering various hoof boots available on the market.  Location is 9346 Pana Road, Edwards, 1:00 p.m.  Potluck after the event. Small fee for non-club members.
 
Saturday, April 18 – Ride Warwick Forest in Berwick. Mounted for 11:00 a.m. departure.  Bring your lunch and a lawn chair for post-ride fun!
 
Sunday, April 19 – Educational Event:  Masterson Method, with Jennifer Nikitin.  Location in Lunenburg at Pamela Norman/Terry Gibson’s barn.
 
Sunday, April 26 –  Educational Event:  Learn to back up and position your rig.  Clinician: Tammy Swinwood-Howes.  Limerick Forest, Area 1 (The Pit) parking lot.  Location:  8773 Forsythe Road, Oxford Station, 09:00.  Registration required. Minimum of 8 participants required for this event to proceed. Come with your empty trailer and learn to back up with skill and accuracy. Tips to make backing up easy. Practice, practice, practice! Monica to supply pylons. Potluck event; bring something to share and a chair to enjoy conversation after the event (Note: There will be a fee to participate in this event.  Participation is confirmed with non-refundable payment prior to this event.  If you cannot attend, find someone to replace you.)  This event is open to camper trailers, boat trailers, or any type of trailer.
 
May 2  - Educational Event:  Spring Tune-up Clinic.  Location:  15975 County Road 18, Lunenburg, 09:00.  Clinician:  Kylie Cornellison.  Prepare your horse to come out of winter.  Exercises to improve top line, improve the whoa.  Specific issues can be addressed.  Cost to be determined.  (Mini tack sale at this event.  Bring items to sell.)
 
Wednesday, May 6 – mid-week club ride.  Limerick Forest, Area 1 (The Pit).  Location:  8773 Forsythe Road, Oxford Station.  Mounted for 11:00 a.m. departure.  Bring something to share and a lawn chair for a tailgate potluck lunch.
 
Sunday, May 17 - Ride private trails in Portland.  Mounted for 11:00 a.m. departure. Assemble at Michele Armstrong’s farm. Address will be shared with those who confirm. Bring something to share and a chair for a potluck lunch.
 
Saturday, May 23 – Educational event:  Driving clinic given by Terry Olmstead, 2950 County Road 20, Oxford Station.  Confirmation and payment required prior to the event.
 
Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, May 31 – Educational Event.  De-spooking Clinic led by Monica Treidlinger. Location:  19438 Heron Road, Williamstown, 09:00. Groundwork, work in-hand and then ride over tarps, bridges (wide and narrow), water trap, flags, umbrellas, balloons, pool noodle obstacles, etc. Limit of 7 horses for each day for this clinic. Spectators are welcome.  (Note: There will be a fee to participate in this event.  Participation is confirmed with non-refundable payment prior to this event.  If you cannot attend, find someone to replace you.)  If the threshold for participants is not met for the 2 days, we will squeeze the event into one day.
 
Saturday, June 6 – Ride in Limerick Forest (the Y).  Mounted for 11:00 a.m. departure. Bring something to share and a lawn chair for a potluck tailgate lunch.
 
Saturday, June 13 – Ride/Drive private property in Green Valley, 4516 2nd Line Road, Green Valley.  Mounted for 11:00 a.m. departure.  Bring something to share and a chair for a tailgate potluck lunch.
 
Sunday, June 28 – Ride/drive at Ferguson Forest. Mounted for 11:00 a.m. departure. Potluck event, bring something to share and a lawn chair.
 
Wednesday, July 1 – Canada Day parade in Alexandria.  Stay tuned for details on riding or hand-walking the parade route.
 
Saturday, July 4 – Ride St. Lazare QC.  Mounted for 11:00 a.m. departure.  Location:  Parking lot address is 751 Ste-Emmanuel, St. Clet, QC.  Bring something to share for a tailgate potluck lunch. (Apparently, the bugs are not as bad in St. Lazare.)  Fee:  $35/day.  Tickets must be purchased the day prior to the ride.  OE liability insurance is accepted this year.  Website:  Club équestre les forestiers – https://lecef.ca.
 
Saturday, August 15 - Educational Event. Dr. Fine from Cranberry Creek Veterinary Services will give a presentation on equine first aid, covering basic horse health, taking temperature, checking respiratory rate, checking hydration, minor wound care, when to call the vet, and address serious illnesses such as colic and laminitis.  Bring a chair.  Location:  971 Sanderson Road, Oxford Mills, 10:00 a.m.  Potluck lunch after the event
 
Sunday, August 16 - Ride/Drive at Ferguson Forest.  Address:  275 County Road 44, Kemptville.  Mounted for 11:00 a.m. departure.  Bring something to share and a chair for a tailgate potluck lunch.
 
Sunday, August 23 – Ride private trails in Portland.  Address will be shared with confirmed participants.  Mounted for 11:00 a.m. departure.  Potluck event, bring something to share and a chair for post-ride fun.
 
Sunday, August 30 – Ride Limerick Forest (the Pit).  Location: 8773 Forsythe Road, Oxford Station.  Mounted for 11:00 a.m. departure.  Bring lunch and a chair for a tailgate potluck lunch.

Saturday, September 26 – Poker Ride fund-raiser for the Food Bank, Limerick Forest. Area 1 (The Pit). T-shirt and meal provided with registration fee and proof of liability insurance.  Location:  8773 Forsythe Road, Oxford Station, 09:00.  (Arrive early for parking.)  We’re looking for sponsors!  Volunteers needed to organize this ride.
 
Saturday, Oct 3, 2026 – To be confirmed.  Club photo shoot.  Location to be determined.
